Are same day or emergency dentist appointments available?

Of course, we have certain times during the day that are set aside specifically for emergency dental appointments. However, we urge you to please dial 9-1-1 if you are experiencing severe pain that cannot wait or a life threatening emergency.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

We do require at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment. We ask you to please be sure to contact us at the earliest possible convenience once you know that you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment so that you can avoid being charged for your visit.

How can I tell if I have gum disease?

Sadly, the majority of people with gum disease are unaware because it begins painlessly. This is why regular dental exams are critical. As gum disease advances, you may notice symptoms such as persistent bad breath, receding gums new spaces between the teeth, bleeding from the gums and loose teeth. If you are concerned about gum disease, then we encourage you to schedule an exam at our clinic.

How often should I brush and floss my teeth?

We recommend that you brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily. Flossing is the most effective way to prevent the build up of plaque and clean between your teeth where the toothbrush is cannot reach.

How often should I schedule a dental cleaning and examination?

We recommend that you visit the dentist for an exam and cleaning every six months for optimal oral health. During an oral exam, the dentist and his team will examine your teeth for signs of problems, remove plaque, potentially take x-rays, and complete a deep tooth cleaning and polish.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

We ask that you plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This will allow you to provide us with any insurance information and complete necessary paperwork. You can also print the Intake Forms we have placed on our forms page, fill them out and bring them to your appointment to save time.

Is flossing regularly necessary?

Yes, it is essential to floss every day because flossing removes plaque between teeth where your toothbrush will often miss. Flossing also greatly reduces the incidence of gum disease because it helps remove plaque close to the gum line.

Should I be concerned about replacing my old silver fillings?

Eventually, all silver amalgam fillings will need to be replaced. This is because the average life span of a silver filling will vary due to the potential for leakage, breakdown or recurrent decay. When you schedule an exam with us, we can assess your fillings and tell you when they will need replacement. We can then replace your old, silver fillings with options such as white filling materials, porcelain inlays, or crowns and veneers that can give you the long-lasting and beautiful smile you are seeking.

What is the best method to get rid of stains or unsightly discolorations on my teeth?

Today, you can find many different products and methods to help whiten your teeth. However, we recommend professional teeth whitening as the best way to improve the appearance of your smile. You can call our dentist clinic today if you would like to find out more information whether or not professional teeth whitening is right for you.

What kind of toothbrush do you recommend?

We prefer for our patients to use a soft bristle toothbrush to avoid injury to the gums. We also suggest using a small-headed brush that maneuvers around each tooth thoroughly. Children should use a child-sized toothbrush that is appropriate for their age.
